How to work out with a 'core cord'
I felt really excited about kicking off this weekend with some new workout ideas because we change the clocks forward which ultimately leads to longer days and more time outside to be healthy. I've been traveling a lot lately so I'm looking for things that I can throw in my suitcase to help keep me motivated to workout. A resistance cord is a lightweight piece of equipment that can go anywhere with you. I know I talk a lot about using your own resistance to build strength and this is just another example of how to incorporate more exercises into your routine. The past two weeks have been especially tough because I had the stomach flu/sinus infection (blech) so I barely ate and felt that I started to lack strength and tone. I've been slowly working back up again and these are two of my favorite exercises to help create a full body tone up.
- Love this because it gets your arms, legs and core all in one shot. Make sure that your knee does not pass over your foot when you lunge. Start with 5 on each leg and feel the burn.
Core Side Bend:
- Sometimes the sides of your torso can be neglected by just focusing on regular crunches. I love ab exercises that whittle down your side and this one also works your upper arms and shoulders.
