Runway Report: Derek Lam Spring 2014

For Spring 2014, Derek Lam was all about letting go of control and letting the fabrics fall where they may, so to speak.

One to Watch star Drake Burnette opened the show in a Gingham print knee length dress, leading us to believe that come spring we'll be picnicking in a big way. Other looks incorporated gingham belted tops with matching turbans (as seen on our other One to Watch pick, Malaika Firth), sea foam green knee-length skirts, cowl neck tops with fringe trim, cut-out shoulders and knee length leather gladiator sandals.

The last look was modeled by Amanda Murphy, who donned a floor length black dress with structured shoulders, while top models Ashleigh Good, Liu Wen, Catherine McNeil, Alana Zimmer and Mirte Maas rounded out the model cast.

We love Lam's playful approach to this new collection and can't wait to step out in Gingham next season!
