Mila Kunis creates 'Motherhood Ring' to celebrate new moms
Mila Kunis is on a mission to celebrate motherhood -- and new baby Wyatt Isabelle -- in a very special way. It's already common for us to mark important life events with jewelry and gifts, from engagements to birthdays and graduations, so why should becoming a mom be any different?
Mila, who is a global ambassador for Gemfields, the world's leading responsibly-sourced colored gemstone brand, has designed an emerald ring to celebrate Motherhood -- and will in turn benefit other mothers. Explaining the collection to Vogue, Mila says, "Precious green emeralds are traditionally symbols of motherhood, wisdom, and long-lasting love." The ring was created in collaboration with jeweler Marina B and sets the stone in 18-carat gold.
Emerald is also a symbol of hope in many cultures, Mila explains. All proceeds from the collection of rings will go to benefits mothers in Zambia, near the Gemfields mine. "[The] Motherhood Rings will benefit the opening of Gemfields Nkana Health Centre, where four new wards have been built - a major undertaking that will have long-lasting benefits to the local community."
"It's really a luxury to own jewelery and gemstones. If you're in a position to do so, you're fortunate," Mila writes. "Given that, I think it's important to pay attention to what you're wearing and where it came from."
The Mila ring retails for $4,800, and you can reserve one here.
