Lauren Conrad called 'basic' by major mag, calls them out on it
Whoever thought it was O.K. to diss Lauren Conrad should think again. When Allure magazine deemed her as "Basic" in their latest magazine, it didn't go unnoticed.
L.C. originally famous from the hit T.V. series, Laguna Beach and The Hills, is now a blogging genius. However according to Allure magazine that is not the case! The fashion magazines article entitled, Beauty and the Beat, featured stars like Vanessa Hudgens, Leandra Medine, and other style icons. While some were represented as 'Bohemian Hippie", Lauren Conrad was called "Basic" as they made reference to her hair that looked like "sausage curls" and a "vanilla-cupcake body milk" scent.
The main insult though is the reference that Allure made to the hip-hop song, "Gucci Gucci" by Kreayshawn. For those of you not familiar with the song, her rap focuses on the term "basic b*tches", which, for the most part, talks about girls that are average or sub-par. The feature goes on to say that "the basic woman is remarkably unremarkable. What's noteworthy about her style is its very plainness. Except to her. She swears those red-soled shoes are cutting-edge."
Just yesterday, Lauren Conrad tweeted:
We know that Conrad isn't afraid to fight her own battles on Twitter. In the past she has taken a stance with both Kristin Cavallari and Heidi Montag. So far there has not be any sign of a battle back from the magazine. The whole situation is even more interesting because we know that Lauren has been on the cover of Allure multiple times, and looked absolutely stunning. Maybe it won't be much of an argument from Allure's end and more of an apology.
