A new site for discovering new designers
Are you guilty of bypassing the great indie boutiques in the less-traveled neighborhoods of your favorite cities? Yeah, us too.
Guilty of the same, Chicagoan Alexis Nido-Russo has created a way for us to stay connected with the fashion world's up-and-comers on her new website, Local Eclectic.
Think of it as Etsy gone Vogue.
Nido-Russo is a luxury junkie who has worked at Gilt City and CS magazine, and she wanted to help fresh design talent reach a larger audience. She personally scours under-the-radar boutiques for rising stars, then gives online shoppers a sleek place to discover them.
Two new designers debut on Local Eclectic each week. And of the goods up for grabs so far, we love this moody silk shibori wrap ($230) by Austin-based Miranda Bennett, the edgy bullet-shell-and-quartz necklace ($36) by L.A.-based Jakimac and the transitional, funnel-neck coat ($360) by New York's Feral Childe.
Look at that, we just accessorized like a jet-setter from our office chair.
