Ravens pick S Sanoussi Kane in Round 7 of 2024 NFL Draft. Everything you need to know

DETROIT — The Baltimore Ravens selected Purdue safety Sanoussi Kane with the 250th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Kane played four seasons with the Boilermakers, earning All-Big Ten honorable mention honors last season. He appeared in 45 games with Purdue, helping the Boilers reach the Big Ten title game in 2022 after winning the West Division.

College stats for Sanoussi Kane

Kane played in six games as a freshman in 2020 before becoming a regular, including a two-year starter and being named a captain last season. Kane made 161 career tackles, including 11 for loss and two sacks, 10 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Kane led Purdue in tackles as a junior and ranked second last season behind All-American Dillon Thieneman, while Kane's seven pass breakups last season ranked first for the Boilermakers.

Kane showed tremendous versatility while playing for four defensive coordinators during his college career. Kane played a linebacker role in the box and also some cover corner, but primarily is a safety.

Sanoussi Kane's best highlights at Purdue

Kane had a three-game stretch where he was dominant defensively. In consecutive games against Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa, Kane totaled 27 tackles, including four for loss and a sack. This game after Kane was instrumental the week prior to that stretch in getting Purdue head coach Ryan Walters his first career win. Kane made a touchdown saving tackle against Virginia Tech and on the same series forced a fumble on a third-and-1. Purdue won the game 24-17. In a 2022 game, Kane's fumble recovery in the final minute sealed a 28-26 victory over Florida Atlantic.

How did Sanoussi Kane perform at Purdue's pro day?

Kane ran a 4.52 in the 40-yard dash last month at Purdue's pro day and also clocked times of 4.32 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle and 7.09 seconds in the three-cone drill. Kane bench pressed 225 pounds 12 times and recorded a 36.5-inch vertical and 10-feet, 8-inches in the broad jump.
