Raven-Symoné Confirms Brother Blaize Pearman Has Died at Age 31

Raven-Symoné's brother, Blaize Pearman, has died. He was 31 years old.

The former Disney Channel star confirmed the saddening news in an Instagram video on Monday, Dec. 11, where she thanked fans for all the "love" received on her birthday. The Raven's Home actress turned 38 on Sunday, Dec. 10.

"Thank you the all the love yesterday. It was felt beyond. Hard to fully celebrate knowing that I'm here and he is not. More on Dec 16," Raven wrote in the caption of the upload.

The That's So Raven alum addressed her sibling's passing, noting that he'd been battling colon cancer for two years.

"It was a little bittersweet for me to be honest because last month I lost my brother, Blaize," she revealed. "He was battling colon cancer for about two years and he is in a better place now. He's loved and missed and the emotions that have been weaving in and out of my body and mind and my family, have been a roller coaster."

Additionally, she divulged that she and her brother share the same birthday month. "I love you, Blaize," she continued. "His birthday is Dec. 16 and forever will be. I love you, guys. My family on Instagram, my family at home and my family and friends. You guys have been such an amazing support system and I love you all."

"Have a wonderful holiday season," the actress signed off.

Famous friends in the comment section of the post sent in heartfelt messages for the Best Podcast Ever host, sharing encouragement as she grieves.

"Oh nooo 😔 So sorry to hear this! Sending you so much love ♥️🙏🏾," High School Musical alum Monique Coleman wrote.

Raven's Cheetah Girls co-star Sabrina Bryan added, "I am so sorry to hear this news Raven! You were always such an awesome big sister who loved and adored her baby brother! Sending healing prayers to you and your family during this difficult time."

"I am so sorry. There are no words that can ease this kind of pain, but I hope you can find moments of peace and comfort in the weeks and months ahead. You and your family are in my prayers. 🖤," her fellow Disney movie co-star Kiely Williams dropped.
