'Rashford fresh start would teach him a different angle'

We've heard it all before.

If you ask a load of clubs if their players are for sale they will say yes apart from a couple of clubs and a couple of particular players.

You would say at Manchester United that change is needed. Also there is the issue of Erik Ten Hag and his future - his recent press conferences have shown his position has become strained.

We are in a situation now where they need a massive change so if there are five or six players that can be changed around to freshen things up then why not.

I think the obvious ones they have to keep are Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund - the young attackers.

Harry Maguire is in an interesting situation, whether they think he can take the club forward or not. We will soon see.

Casemiro, Raphael Varane and Christian Eriksen are getting on a bit.

The Rashford situation will also be very interesting because of the value attached to that type of deal. The pot of money they are dealing with may be dependent on whether he stays or goes.

I think he has done really well for the club but because of the uncertainty in the team and some of his performances, if there is a top club in for him around Europe that he can go and have a fresh start. Not being the local boy at Manchester United would teach him a different angle.

He would come on strong, get better and start to get that buzz about him again. There is a bit of negativity around him for whatever reason so if there is a chance for him to go and play football he will do really well somewhere else.

The rest is not that easy. Anthony cost them a huge amount - how are they going to recoup that or are they going to take a loss?

There are lots of big decisions for Manchester United to make.
