New T-Pain Song Includes Rotary Engine SampleT-Pain / TikTok

T-Pain may be best known for his successful music career, but he is also an avid car enthusiast and collector. Based on this new TikTok from T-Pain, those two passions will be combined on his next song, Baby Got Brap, which samples a Mazda rotary engine.

T-Pain has been in the music business for over 20 years now. His success has allowed him to build an impressive car collection that includes a Bugatti Veyron, a Rolls-Royce Phantom, and a Ferrari F430. And apparently, he is a big fan of the Wankel rotary engine by Mazda.

His new song is scheduled to drop on October 20. In the video clip, a pair of rotary engine combustion chambers rise from the bottom of the screen. As we see the rotary spin inside the chambers, we hear a distinct engine sound before it transitions to the beat. Exciting stuff for both music and automotive fans.

But the automotive connection continues beyond just the rotary engine sample. This song also features car culture influencer Hertrech Eugene Jr., or “Hert,” as most fans know him. Hert first burst onto the scene as a gamer and began to grow a following. He then got into the drift scene and became known for his “Twerkstallion” FC-chassis RX-7 drift car. That RX-7 would have come from the factory with a Wankel rotary engine, but Hert dropped in an LS V-8 instead. Listen to that sample again. Does that sound more like a cammed LS V-8 or a rotary engine to you?

Regardless of the sound, it is special to see T-Pain collaborate with Hert on a new song that is obviously fueled by automotive passion. If you want even more of an automotive connection, consider this. T-Pain will be the headliner on the main stage at the GRIDLIFE Festival Tour at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca from October 20 to 22. The Festival will combine music with 175 race cars that are expected to compete over the weekend. There will also be a concours of over 100 hand-selected cars from the Eighties, Nineties, and early 2000s for guests to enjoy. The festival promises to be a fun event, and now, we know we'll have a special new song to listen to while we're there.
