Rapper Polo G arrested when loaded gun found inside his swanky Manhattan hotel room: prosecutors

Rapper Polo G was busted on gun charges when a maid at a swanky lower Manhattan hotel found a loaded Glock in his room, officials said Thursday.

Taurus Bartlett, 25, was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm after police recovered a loaded gun at the Dominick Hotel on Spring Street in SoHo.

The California-based rapper — known for his Billboard charting debut album “Die a Legend” — was staying at the posh hotel when a maid who was cleaning his room found the gun, Manhattan prosecutors said.

Cops were called to the hotel and found a black Glock on a loveseat inside Polo G’s room, according to a criminal complaint. The gun had a bullet in the chamber and nine bullets in the magazine, the complaint said.

Polo G’s attorney Stacey Richman argued the rapper was focused on his rap career in a plea for no bail.

“This man is 100% serious in terms of his work, in terms of his professionalism,” Richman said. “He has absolutely no incentive to flee because he has a career he’s built.”

In a bail application, prosecutors said Polo G was a flight risk and brought up prior run-ins with the law, which included a misdemeanor conviction.

He was also arrested twice in 24 hours on kidnapping, robbery, and assault charges in Los Angeles last August, according to reports.

His attorney did not comment on the court appearance.

Born in Chicago, Polo G quickly shot up the rap charts with hit singles like “Finer Things” and “Pop Out” which featured rapper Lil Tjay.

His 2019 debut album, “Die A Legend,” peaked at No. 6 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

He’s expected to release his fourth album, “Hood Poet,” later this year after it was delayed following his August 2023 arrest.

His next court date is June 4, when he can appear virtually.
