Rapper Killer Mike was detained by police during the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 4, just hours after being crowned with three awards.

Killer Mike—whose real name is Michael Santiago Render—was escorted out of the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles just before the start of the show following an alleged physical altercation with a security guard, TMZ reports.

A video of the rapper walking out of the arena was shared to social media by The Hollywood Reporter, where Killer Mike could be seen with his hands cuffed behind his back and surrounded by several members of law enforcement.

Just hours prior to the alleged incident, Killer Mike received three awards during the pre-televised portion of the ceremony, including both Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for "Scientists & Engineers," featuring André 3000, Future and Eryn Allen Kane. His album Michael also won the award for Best Rap Album.

According to Chris Gardner, a journalist for The Hollywood Reporter who has been tweeting live updates of the situation, the situation has since "calmed," though Killer Mike is still being detained.

Harvey Mason Jr., the CEO of the Recording Academy is said to have gone backstage after talking to both security and Killer Mike's team, Gardner tweeted. "The scene by security has calmed but Mike is still detained back there."

An LAPD spokesman told Gardner, "At around 4 pm (PT), an individual was detained at [Crypto.com Arena] for a physical altercation. The individual is currently being questioned. I cannot confirm [the] identity of the individual until [the] person is charged. The investigation is ongoing."
