Rams Star Shares ‘Disgusting’ Play From Matthew Stafford At Practice
The buzz around Matthew Stafford’s arrival in Los Angeles this year is palpable.
Fans and analysts have raved about the veteran quarterback’s expected impact on the Rams’ offense — and so too have the players within the organization.
Earlier this week during a training camp press conference, LA wide receiver Cooper Kupp referenced one play in particular that made him realize how good Stafford truly is. Talking about a no-look pass across the middle of the field to his fellow wideout teammate Robert Woods, Kupp shared a telling reaction.
“It was just disgusting,” the fifth-year WR said.
One subtle thing Cooper Kupp has noticed about Matthew Stafford in competitive camp reps is how Stafford moves defenses w/ his eyes. Pointed to a no-look pass across the middle to Robert Woods in which Stafford held the safety w/ his eyes.

With Jared Goff under center in 2020, the Rams finished 13th place in the league with 250.9 passing yards per game. Stafford’s former Detroit Lions squad finished three spots above Los Angeles (256.5 ypg) with far fewer weapons in the receiving game.
Under Sean McVay’s renowned offensive scheme and with Kupp, Woods and DeSean Jackson all at his disposal in 2021, Stafford should been in for a big season. The Rams will also be forced to lean even more heavily on their passing offense following the season-ending Achilles tear for starting running back Cam Akers.
Through his 12-year career as a starter in Detroit, Stafford’s career-high passing yards (5,038) and passing touchdowns (41) came during his third season in 2011.
Could the 33-year-old QB surpass those numbers with the Rams in 2021?
