On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Rams will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round of the playoffs. With kickoff roughly 24 hours away, the Rams have activated two players from their practice squad.

Defensive backs Blake Countess and Eric Weddle have been activated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.

Weddle came out of retirement right before the first round of the playoffs. On Monday night, he played 19 defensive snaps in a victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaking to reporters this past Monday, Weddle said he’ll feel more confident with another week of reps under his belt.

“Just getting another week, it’ll only make me stronger physically, being able to play more if it’s needed,” Weddle said, via the Rams’ official site. “Hopefully we get [Taylor] Rapp back. Whatever my role is, I’m good with, right? I’m not here to get in anyone’s way other than push for greatness and be a guy that is accountable and gonna accept his role and be great at it.”

Taylor Rapp will be inactive for this Sunday’s game due to a concussion. That means Weddle may have to play a large role on defense for the Rams.

It’ll be interesting to see what Weddle’s role is against the Buccaneers.
