When will Raising Cane's open in Johnston? It's getting closer.

JOHNSTON − Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, the fast food restaurant that only serves chicken fingers and sides, plans to open its Johnston location sometime in January.

The Johnston location will be the chain's first in Rhode Island, while another location, just across the border in Seekonk, is set to open in February.

When will Raising Cane's open in Johnston?

While Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers plans to open in January, no exact date has been set, Raising Cane's spokeswoman Hannah Henderson wrote in an email.

Previous estimates, based on the pace of construction, had put opening as early as December.

Raising Cane's is hiring for Rhode Island

The company is in the process of hiring and training the branch's managers, 10 for the Johnston location. Hiring for the other 110 jobs will begin very soon, Raising Cane's Regional Vice President Brian Stegall previously said.

The company's hiring portal currently shows four openings for Rhode Island and one for Seekonk.

Where will the Raising Cane's be in Johnston?

The restaurant is being built on the former site of the Ruby Tuesday in the Stonehill Marketplace off Atwood Avenue, near Route 6 and Interstate 295, in a stand-alone spot in the middle of the parking lot.

Plans for the spot were approved in 2022, including two drive-through windows.

How big will the Raising Cane's restaurant in Johnston be?

The restaurant will seat 100 people inside, in addition to the two drive-through lanes.
