What will the weather be like in Sacramento on Thanksgiving?

It’s going to be a dry and cold week heading into Turkey Day, the latest forecasts show.

According to the National Weather Service’s forecast for Sacramento, Saturday night will be the last time, for now, that Sacramentans see wet weather.

NWS meteorologist Katrina Hand said that the agency is still predicting chances of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, but the weather will dry out by Sunday.

Starting Sunday, forecasts show sunny skies, kicking off a mostly clear Thanksgiving week.

It will be chilly, however, with temperatures in the high 60s during the day, dropping to mid-40s at night.

The forecast for Thanksgiving week contrasts with what experts have predicted for most of the state this winter.

Parts of California are expected to see wet conditions as a “super” El Niño makes its way through Earth’s northern hemisphere.

El Niño and its counterpart, La Niña, are climate phenomena that can affect weather patterns across the globe with extreme pressure systems, rainfall and wind, the National Weather Service wrote on its website.

What’s the Thanksgiving weather forecast for Sacramento?

According to Hand, warmer and dryer weather conditions will start Sunday and continue through the week.

Temperatures are slightly above normal for mid-to-late November, she added.

Forecasts show a sunny Monday in Sacramento with a high near 67 degrees and a low around 46 degrees.

It will be mostly sunny on Tuesday, with highs near 68 degrees a low around 45 degrees.

Thanksgiving Eve will also be mostly sunny with a high near 67 degrees.

As of Thursday morning, Hand said people can expect similar temperatures for Thanksgiving Day, with minor fluctuations.

What about greater Sacramento region?

According to the National Weather Service, Roseville will see a similar forecast as Sacramento with a high near 67 degrees and a low around 47 on Monday. Highs for Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the high 60s.

Placerville, El Dorado County and Folsom can also expect highs in the high 60s and lows near the 40s and 50s.

Temperatures in the greater Sacramento area will be a few degrees cooler at higher elevations, Hand said.

Forecasts for these areas are expected to remain steady on Thanksgiving Day, with little change, she said.

In the Tahoe City region, forecasts show that the weather will be colder with highs in the 50s and lows ranging from 36 to 39 degrees, starting Monday.

Heading toward the San Francisco Bay Area, temperatures will be in the high 60s and low 50s starting Monday.
