Rail passengers warned of temporary timetable change
Temporary changes to weekday rail services between Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Leeds will kick in next week, as major upgrades to the TransPennine line continue.
Diversionary routes and rail replacement buses will be in place on the route between Monday 22 April and Friday 17 May.
Around 4,000 metres of new track will be laid between Morley and Cottingley stations as part of the ongoing TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU) works.
Operator TransPennine Express said the scheme was "essential" to delivering better services for passengers in the long-term.
It is the latest segment of the multi-billion pound upgrade to railway links between Yorkshire and the north-west.
Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys in advance.
Paul Sumner, senior sponsor on the TRU, said: "I want to thank passengers in advance for bearing with us while we close parts of the railway between Huddersfield and Leeds to complete these major upgrades.
"This important work will ultimately help bring about major improvements for passengers travelling across the North of England, with faster, more reliable and greener services."
