Raiders vs Titans: Predictions, odds and injury report for NFL Week 3 game in Nashville

AP

The Raiders will look to rebound after a brutal loss to the Cardinals in NFL Week 2.

Las Vegas had a 20-0 lead before the Cardinals roared back and won the game on a scoop-and-score fumble recovery for a 29-23 victory at Allegiant Stadium.

Now the Raiders set their sights on the Titans, who are coming off a 42-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Both the Raiders and Titans enter the game at 0-2. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. PDT Sunday from Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

A sense of urgency in the young NFL season? You better believe it.

Both teams are coming off playoff appearances last season and are hoping to get back there, but for one it will be especially difficult to overcome an 0-3 start.

The Raiders haven’t started 0-3 since the 2018 season, when they finished 4-12.

Tennessee went 0-3 to begin the season in 2009.

Injury report

Raiders rule out WR Hunter Renfrow (concussion) and LB Denzel Perryman (ankle). RB Josh Jacobs (illness), S Tre’von Moehrig (hip), C Andre James (concussion), DT Bilal Nichols (shoulder) and DT Neil Farrell (shoulder) are listed as questionable.

The Titans ruled out LB Bud Dupree (hip), T Taylor Lewan (knee), DB Ugo Amadi (ankle), LB Ola Adeniyi (neck).

Analysis

It’s quite surprising the Raiders are favored. It feels more like a pick ’em game. ... Still, somebody has to win here and get their first victory of the season (assuming there is no tie). ... The Raiders have plenty of weapons to help them come out on top, but the main focus should be on defense, where Las Vegas must stop Titans RB Derrick Henry, who is a hard-to-tackle force. ... The Raiders will be be without Perryman, so others will have to step up and slow down Henry. ... DE Chandler Jones has been quiet for the past two weeks and he needs to step it up to make it tough on Titans QB Ryan Tannehill and help free up DE Maxx Crosby. ... The Raiders’ offense needs to get going, too. The 23 points they scored last week is not nearly enough given the talent they have behind QB Derek Carr, including WR Davante Adams, TE Darren Waller and Jacobs. ... While oddsmakers have the Raiders favored, it’s hard to take that side. ... It’s a coin flip.

Prediction: Raiders 24, Titans 23
