Will the Raiders start piling up wins after the bye? The Bee’s revised predictions

When The Bee put together way-too-early season predictions for the Raiders’ 2022 season, we predicted the Raiders to be 2-3 heading into the bye week.

That didn’t go according to plan, as some misfortunes (play-calling, penalties, turnovers) hurt the Raiders early in the NFL season. Some fans blamed Raiders coach Josh McDaniels for the losses.

Fortunately for the Raiders, it’s still a young season, and anything can happen.

Kind of like when the Raiders started strong in past seasons, only to stumble in the middle of the season, like last season, before clinching a playoff berth with a win in the finale.

The Raiders will be coming off the bye week at 1-4.

Week 7: Oct. 23 vs. Houston Texans, 1:05 p.m. (CBS)

The Texans will enter the game at 1-3-1, with their only win against the Jaguars last week.

The Raiders should get back on track here

Prediction: Raiders 37, Texans 17

Week 8: Oct. 30 at New Orleans Saints, 10 a.m. (CBS)

Another chance for the Raiders to keep things rolling.

Chalk up another win.

Prediction: Raiders 34, Saints 27

Week 9: Nov. 6 at Jacksonville Jaguars, 10 a.m. (CBS)

Another opportune time for the Raiders to get to .500.

It’s very likely that could happen.

Prediction: Raiders 30, Jaguars 20

Week 10: Nov. 13 vs. Indianapolis Colts, 1:05 p.m. (CBS)

Another win for the Raiders?

The Colts have been struggling this season.

Prediction: Raiders 34, Colts 23

Week 11: Nov. 20 at Denver Broncos, 1:05 p.m. (FOX)

This is another winnable game for the Raiders. The Broncos have been struggling.

We had predicted the Broncos to win this game, but we’re making a revision

Prediction: Raiders 27, Broncos 24

Week 12: Nov. 27 at Seattle Seahawks, 1:05 p.m. (CBS)

The Seahawks are playing well behind Geno Smith.

Playing in Seattle is always loud. Raiders are used to noise playing Kansas City.

Prediction: Raiders 28, Seahawks 17

Week 13: Dec. 4 vs. Los Angeles Chargers, 1:25 p.m. (CBS)

Can the Raiders split with the Chargers after opening the season losing to them?

Prediction: Raiders 30, Chargers 27

Week 14: Dec. 8 at Los Angeles Rams, 5:15 p.m. (Prime Video)

The winning streak could stop here.

The Rams have struggled. This will be a toss up.

The Bee originally predicted the Raiders to lose 34-24.

Prediction: Rams 27, Raiders 23

Week 15: Dec. 18 vs. New England Patriots, 5:20 p.m. (NBC*)

Can the Raiders bounce back after a loss?

The Bee thinks so.

Prediction: Raiders 41, Patriots 24

Week 16: Dec. 24 at Pittsburgh Steelers, 5:15 p.m. (NFL Network)

Who knows how strong the Steelers will be by this time around.

As usual, the defense will be strong. It’s a night game so who knows what the weather will be like.

Prediction: Steelers 24, Raiders 20

Week 17: Jan. 1 vs. San Francisco 49ers, 1:05 p.m. (FOX)

Big game for both franchises.

Prediction: Raiders 27, 49ers 24

Week 18: Jan. 7 or Jan. 8 vs. Kansas City Chiefs, TBD

Who knows what the Chiefs will be playing for around this time.
