Crazy Ex-Girlfriend might have ended almost five years ago, but Rachel Bloom says that the cast is still very close.

"There is a group text. We do still keep in touch," the actress/writer/director told People. "One of the cast members is obviously in my [new] show. Many people have come out [to see it]. So yes, we are still quite close."

The show she is referring to is her new musical comedy Death, Let Me Do My Show, and David Hull is the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend cast member who is in it with her.

The show may not be airing new episodes, but it's reaching new people regardless due to its songs blowing up on TikTok.

Reflecting on the show's newfound success amongst The Youth, Bloom said: "I love it because it just shows you can never muscle something into virality.

"Definitely some of the songs that we did on the show five, six, seven years ago have a bigger life on TikTok now, and that has nothing to do with us posting it on my Instagram or tweeting or live-tweeting the episode. That's just people."

"All you can do is your best work and put it out in the world, and you can try to do your best to promote and muscle something into being in the zeitgeist, but at the end of the day, well, it's kind of out of your control," she added.

She also said that she couldn't pick a personal favourite song from the 157 that appeared in the show, stating that even the ones that she wasn't the main writer of have a story behind them that she's attached to.

All four seasons of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend can be streamed on ITVX in the UK, and on Netflix in the US.
