Rabbit Road opens May 31; part of Dinosaur Trail will then close

May 23—The major Santa Fe County Northeast and Southeast Connector Project, intended to improve the network of roads around Santa Fe Community College, is edging closer to completion.

The entire length of Rabbit Road from South St. Francis Drive to the Richards Avenue roundabout will open May 31, one week ahead of schedule. County leaders expect the road's opening to reduce traffic through Oshara Village, a county news release said.

Next, the county contractor will close Dinosaur Trail at Churchill Road beginning June 4 for about six weeks. The closure will allow workers to connect Dinosaur Trail to the Richards Avenue roundabout. Drivers should "strictly adhere" to detours and safety precautions such as reduce speeds in work zones, according to the release.
