Tacoma and the surrounding region can expect another bout of hot weather this week, forecasters say.

Temperatures in Tacoma are expected to climb to the mid-to-upper 80s on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be the hottest days, pushing to near 90 degrees, and warmest nights, with lows in the lower 60s, according to the National Weather Service’s Seattle Weather Forecast Office.

In Olympia, temperatures will be in the mid-to-high 80s Tuesday through Thursday, with a high near 90 degrees on Wednesday.

The office stated the overnight lows are presently expected to be cool enough to allow for some relief during the overnight hours.

The heat risk for Tuesday through Thursday is a moderate risk for heat-related illnesses for those who are sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.

Earlier this month, the greater Puget Sound region saw temperatures nearing triple digits.

Saturday is likely to be the coolest day of the week, with a gradual warming trend on Sunday and Monday, according to NWS. Temperatures should return to near normal for most of Western Washington by Friday and Saturday.
