Publix grocery store opens a new location in Carolina Forest. More development to come.

The Publix Super Market at Marketplace at the Mill in the Myrtle Beach area opened on Wednesday.

“We are excited to expand across the area with the opening of our new Publix in Myrtle Beach,” said Jared Glover, Publix media relations manager in a news release. “We look forward to bringing Publix’s legendary service and quality to this great community.”

Alfred Greer serves as store manager and has 25 years of service with Publix. He most recently served as a Publix store manager in Pawleys Island. The 46,791 square-foot Publix, located at 136 Sapwood Road, will employ approximately 130 associates, according to the release.

The new store will have a deli, pharmacy, produce department, bakery, full-service meat and seafood departments and wine.

As previously reported, Alongside the supermarket and retail stores, an apartment complex is being developed on-site. Hawthorne at the Mill will have 290 one, two and three-bedroom units. Publix is also close to open another store in the Market Common area off of Coventry Boulevard.

Store Hours:

  • Seven days a week – 7 a.m. to 9 p.m

Pharmacy Hours:

  • Monday through Friday – 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Saturday – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Sunday – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
