Public Records: Fairfield County restaurant inspections

The following are restaurant inspections with critical violations, as conducted by the Fairfield County Health Department from Jan. 15 to 31.

Jan. 17

The Fairview Inn, 176 E. Fair Ave., Lancaster. Observed no employee health agreement.

Old Bill Bailey's, 200 Harrison Ave., Lancaster. Observed residue on the potato slicer from the previous day and residue in the soda gun and soda gun holster. Cut tomatoes had no date marking. Observed unlabeled chemical spray bottle.

Jan. 18

Stoutsville Mini Mart, 11387 Main St., Stoutsville. Observed cans in the handwashing sink. Observed rodent droppings in the cabinet under the three-compartment sink.

Ugly Mug Bar & Grill, 9645 Basil Western Road, Canal Winchester. Observed inside wall of stainless ice bin with residues present.

Arby's, 1580 N. Memorial Drive, Lancaster. Observed the chicken nuggets and the chicken tenders to be 110 F and 112 F on the hot holding table. Gyros meat registered at 55 F and wagu burgers at 57 F at the time of inspection. Both types of meat are housed in the same prep cooler unit that gets easily bumped and unplugged due to a faulty outlet.

Jan. 19 a

Texas Roadhouse, 2890 Columbus Lancaster Road NW, Lancaster. A kitchen employee was observed wiping their nose with a tissue and not washing their hands after.

Jan. 22

Lancaster Golf Club, 3100 Country Club Road, Lancaster. Food residue on the deli meat slicer. Unlabeled chemical bottle at the bar area. Observed no hot water at the time of inspection. Observed no air gap on the three-compartment sink or the food prep sink.

Primrose Retirement Community of Lancaster, 1481 Wesley Way, Lancaster. Observed handwashing sink located by entry door with trash can lid sitting over it - corrected during inspection.

Jan. 23

The Well, 203 S. Broad St., Lancaster. An open can of pumpkin puree was not date-marked.

Chipotle Mexican Grill #0750, 1608 N. Memorial Drive, Lancaster. Two containers in the walk-in cooler were not date-marked.

Old Town Diner, 8810 Lancaster Thornville Road, Pleasantville. No lid or cover on the sausage gravy/gravy mixture in the cooler.

Jan. 24

Creno's Pizza, 107 N. Main St., Baltimore. Previously used empty pickle jars and butter containers were stored clean on shelves. The person in charge (PIC) stated that the jars and containers are kept for an employee's personal use.

Taqueria El Tapatio, 1021 N. Memorial Drive, Lancaster. Containers of food in the walk-in cooler were not date-marked properly. Some foods had been removed from the freezer and placed in the cooler, but the date marking did not reflect the date it was placed in the cooler.

Crenos Bremen, 111 N. Mulberry St., Bremen. Observed quaternary ammonium sanitizer testing below 100 parts per million (ppm). Ensure that sanitizer is between 200-400 ppm. Observed unlabeled chemical spray bottle.

Jan. 25

Pappy D's LLC, 2977 Greenlawn Ave. NE, Millersport. Observed the cover missing off of chicken in prep table. Observed the inside guard of the ice machine to be dirty. Diced tomatoes in the walk-in had no date mark.

Taco Bell #38887, 2099 Schorr Way Drive, Lancaster. PIC could not produce an employee health policy at the time of inspection. A plastic glove was used as a stopper in the food prep sink and the sink was holding water.

Tommy Wayne's Pizza, 5805 Chillicothe Lancaster Road, Amanda. Observed diced tomatoes that were not date-marked.

Jan. 26

K&K Cafe LLC, 554 W. Sixth Ave., Lancaster. Observed milk that was date marked Jan. 25.

Stakely Automotive and Marathon, 197 W. Columbus St., Lithopolis. Observed some build-up on a tray and nozzles of the soft drink machine.

Lancaster Campground Cafeteria, 2151 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster. No employee health agreement was observed. There was no air gap between the hose from the ice machine and the flood rim.

Jan. 31

Lanfair Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, 1590 Chartwell St., Lancaster. Observed pans stored and cleaned with food residues still present.
