Getting something for free is the ultimate bargain-hunter goal, and Amazon is here to one-up that feel-good vibe. "But how???" you ask? Well, the online retail giant has a slew of Amazon gift card deals and discounts that will give you credits for future purchases. That's right; you're basically getting handed Amazon cash when you purchase select gift cards, try certain services or buy products from specific brands. Ready to get free money? Here's the deal — or rather, deals.

If you've been mulling giving Mom the gift of Amazon, consider this: When you spend $50 on a Mother's Day e-gift card, you'll get a $5 credit for yourself. While you're thinking of Mom here, of course, it's also worth considering that you can get a card for yourself and score the $5 credit. If you know you'll spend $50 at Amazon sometime in the near future, there's no reason not to go this route. Either way, you save! Just a heads-up: You need to have Amazon Prime to take advantage of this sweet deal (you can sign up for your free 30-day trial here). Also know that this deal is good only through the end of Mother's Day, aka Sunday.

Now, here's a deal definitely worth considering if you're an Amazon devotee. People who sign up for the Amazon Prime Visa card will instantly get a $150 Amazon Gift Card upon approval. You'll also and earn 5% back everywhere on up to $2,500 in spending for the first three months after you open an account — up to a $125 value. Again, though, you'll need a Prime membership to qualify. The card comes with a bunch of additional perks, like 5% back on eligible Amazon purchases, 5% back at Whole Foods and 2% back at gas stations and restaurants.

Not everyone knows this, but Amazon has company pickup points at locations like Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh or Kohl's stores, where you can actually retrieve your purchases instead of having them delivered to your home. Right now, Amazon is offering $10 to customers who forgo the usual delivery route (ideal for those who want to keep a purchase a secret from their roommate/significant other). Just add the code "PICKUP10OFF" when you choose Amazon Pickup as your delivery option. The credit applies to customers who have never used Amazon Pickup or have not used the service in the last 12 months. (Find your local Amazon hub here.) PS: It's — you guessed it — for Prime members only.

Amazon Reload is a service that allows you to add funds to your Amazon account or gift card balance. It's basically designed to help you stay on a budget but, if you want to add more to it, you can. Well, when you add $100 or more to your AR account, you'll get $12 in Amazon credits to spend. FYI, though: This is only for first-time Amazon Reload users.

Got essentials you need to buy for around your house? Who doesn't! Amazon's Stock Up & Save promotion gives you 20% back when you buy at least $50 worth of select gear. That means you'll end up paying $40 for $50 worth of stuff! There are a ton of Amazon Basics items in the mix, including light bulbs, coffee, allergy medicine, dog-poop bags and more.

If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.)
