PSP: Bomb threat called in to Chestnuthill Township Wawa; nothing found

A Pocono Wawa received a bomb threat over the weekend.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, they were dispatched to the Wawa at Route 715 and U.S. 209 in Chestnuthill Township at 10:20 p.m. on Friday, April 19, where it was alleged that an unknown number called in a threat to the store.

Responding troopers did not find anything suspicious after the store was temporarily closed and vacated.

Community Services and Public Information Officer Trooper Anthony Petroski said Tuesday that the incident was a bomb threat.

There is an ongoing investigation into the incident, and PSP Fern Ridge is asking anyone with information to contact their Criminal Investigation Unit at 570-646-2271.
