I’m calling it now: Blue is on the way to being this season’s hottest color trend—and I’ve got the receipts to prove it! Seriously, the vibrant hue was seen in all forms at the 2024 Met Gala. From Sydney Sweeney’s grunge embellished floral Miu Miu dress to Rachel Zegler's Cinderella-esque Michael Kors ball gown, the stars made quite the splash last night. What really sold me on this incoming trend, however? Sabrina Carpenter’s Met Gala blueberry milk nails to match her sky blue cloud-like ensemble. In a total mother move, Sab used a $12 OPI nail polish to achieve her look. Isn’t that sweet? Baby we know. It seems the Espresso singer was indeed working late again because she absolutely served. And if you’re wondering how to recreate this mani look, you’re in luck because we got the step-by-step guide straight from her nail artist Zola Ganzorigt!

I’ll be thinking about this Met Gala moment from Sabrina for a while, thank ya very much! Aside from the fact that she made her highly anticipated red carpet debut with boyfriend Barry Keoghan (I ship it, just saying!), the actress simply killed it last night. While some might argue that her black bodice and train gown stole the show, it’s the details that truly Mountain Dew-ed it for me.

It’s not lost on me that these nails give off total glazed donut vibes (shoutout to Hailey Bieber), and that’s thanks to OPI’s chrome powder. Over on IG, Zola gave a step-by-step tutorial for Sabrina’s mani. To begin, she applied a base coat before going in with two coats of a mix of OPI’s GelColor It’s A Boy! and Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can. But if you’re an OG follower of the glazed donut nail trend, then you know that OPI’s Tin Man Can chrome powder is virtually impossible to get your hands on. No worries though because Zola shared a worthy dupe. You can apply OPI Infinite Shine in Pearlcore on top to get a similar glazed finish.

After, she added rhinestones on top for an icy blue lewk and topped it off with one coat of Stay Shiny Top Coat. A fairytale dream, if I’ve ever seen one! My prediction is that everyone will be wearing this exact shade all summer long and the best part about it is that it’s so affordable and easy to recreate. Like, legit cheaper than going to the salon. Thank you, Miss Sabrina Carpenter for the inspo!
