Proposed subdivision would bring hundreds of new homes to Castle Hayne

A new proposed subdivision in Castle Hayne could bring in over a thousand housing units for those looking to move to the northern end of the county.

The proposed Sidbury 187 & Gore Performance Residential Subdivision would connect to Sidbury Station, which is located at 6456 Zoysia Way, according to the developer’s site plans.

The 700-acre subdivision would offer a wide range of housing options including single-family homes, townhomes and duplexes.

According to site plans, there are 1,751 proposed units. Out of the total proposed units, there are 868 designated for single-family housing.

The plans also include 298 townhome units that would be 120 feet in depth and 95 feet in depth. Another 144 units are included in the site plans for duplexes.

The townhomes will offer 46 one-bedroom units, 72 two-bedroom units and 26 three-bedroom units.

The beginning of the subdivision will start with the duplexes at the entrance from Sidbury Road. There will also be a connection from Sidbury Station to the duplex portion of the subdivision.

The Sidbury 187 tract of the subdivision will also include lots for single-family homes and the Gore tract will include single-family homes as well as townhomes at the back of the subdivision that will back up to homes in Sidbury Station.

There are proposed connections in five different sections of the new subdivision to Sidbury Station.

The applicant is Rick Moore with McKim & Creed, Inc. of Wilmington and the owner of the land is Corbett Industries, Inc.

D.R. Horton is the planned builder for the homes in the subdivision. The company also built the homes in Sidbury Station.

The plans are scheduled to go before the New Hanover County Technical Review Committee on June 5.
