The Promise Fund of Florida this month was awarded second-place and $50,000 at the Florida Blue Sapphire Award Ceremony.

The nonprofit, co-founded in 2018 by Palm Beach resident Nancy Brinker, said it will use the award toward its mission of increasing access to breast and cervical cancer resources and treatment.

The Florida Blue Foundation announced the winners at its annual Sapphire Awards ceremony on April 3 in Orlando, which was attended by roughly 800 people, according to a release from the Promise Fund.

“As I sat among an audience of eight hundred peers, I felt a sense of inspiration and reassurance that our model is indeed working to advance healthcare access for all women. I would like to extend a Thank You to Florida Blue as well as a heartfelt congratulations to the other award winners, and our colleagues in South Florida whose invaluable contributions have helped to propel our mission forward,” Brinker said in a prepared statement.

The partnerships with various well-known community organizations providing primary care are instrumental in the achievement of this award and more women gaining access to breast and cervical cancer screening, the Promise Fund said, adding that the $50,000 award will further empower the organization to continue "their impactful work and explore new avenues to enhance healthcare accessibility for women in our community."
