A prominent Boise coffee shop for years, this Starbucks has closed. Here’s the scoop

Boiseans craving their morning cup of java at a familiar coffeehouse got a jolt several days ago — and it wasn’t caffeine.

Starbucks Coffee, 812 S. Vista Ave., suddenly closed.

Concerned customers might notice that the location isn’t listed on Starbucks’ website, either.

But fear not. The closure is only temporary, according to signs posted on windows.

There’s no explanation why. But the message asks that customers “please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. ... We will reopen Wednesday, May 31.”

That’s good news for regulars. Opened nearly a decade ago, the prominent, standalone building at Vista Village Shopping Center includes a drive-thru and outdoor patio seating.

Update: After the store had reopened Wednesday, a Starbucks spokesperson said by phone that it had closed for “maintenance repair,” which she described as “standard stuff that stores go through.”
