The Problem With Jon Stewart Abruptly Cancelled at Apple Amid Creative Clash

The Problem With Jon Stewart has a problem at Apple TV+: The streamer has cancelled the talk show hosted by the Daily Show alum and dropped plans for a third season, according to the New York Times, which cites “creative differences” as the reason for the axing.

Stewart reportedly told his staff that Apple pushed back on proposed topics relating to China and artificial intelligence, among other disputes over potential guests and topics. (A source confirms the cancellation to TVLine, but an Apple TV+ representative declined to comment.) The upcoming presidential election also carried with it “potential for further creative disagreements,” according to the Times. Taping on Season 3 was set to begin in just a few weeks.
