If you want to reach Princess Anne online, you're out of luck.

Earlier this year, Meaghan Kall, an epidemiologist at the UK Health Security Agency, shared with the Mail+ that when she attended Windsor Castle last month for the Covid Unsung Heroes Awards that celebrate women in STEM, she asked Princess Anne if they could "connect on Twitter." (Kall is an active user, tweeting under the handle: @kallmemeg.)

According to Kall, Anne replied, "Goodness me, no! I don’t even have an email account."

Princess Anne, 71, undertakes hundreds of engagements on behalf of the royal family every year. However, unlike her brother, Prince Charles, or her nephew, Prince William, she has no dedicated social media channel to share what she's up to. Instead, the royal family's main social media accounts share Anne's activities.

Though Anne isn't herself online, she still is familiar with technology. During summer 2020, she helped her mother, Queen Elizabeth, log into a video conference.

"Can you see everybody? You should have six people on your screen." Anne asks the Queen.

"Yes, well, I can see four anyway," the Queen responds.

Anne joked in reply, "Ok fair enough. Actually, you don't need me. You know what I look like."

In a documentary Anne: The Princess Royal At 70, Anne spoke about connecting online. "With online technology, being in touch is one thing, but it’s not quite the same, the ability to meet people, that’s what makes the difference," the Princess Royal said.

She also shared her dislike for social media. "I mean, I know what Twitter is but I wouldn’t go anywhere near it if you paid me frankly," she joked. "But that’s a slightly different issue."

Even though Anne is not on Twitter, or any social media, or doesn't have an email, you can still write her an old-fashioned letter:

Who knows, maybe she'll reply!
