Prince William Hopes to Bring Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to New York City One Day

Prince William may be back home in England, but we're still thinking about his trip to New York City earlier this week.

During his final engagement at FDNY Ten House, he briefly met members of the public during a surprise walkabout. "Will you come back with Catherine and the kids?" one onlooker asked him. Prince William replies, "One day, I'd love to!" One fan even gave him three "I ❤️ New York" souvenir t-shirts for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Alyssa Budihas, the royal fan who gave William the shirts, told Town & Country afterwards she was "very overwhelmed, very happy, very grateful that he was as kind and gracious as that I had always imagined he would be."

The royal kids rarely travel with their parents on official engagements outside the United Kingdom. However, memorably, Prince George traveled with his parents to New Zealand and Australia in 2014, and in 2016, George and his younger sister, Princess Charlotte, went with their parents to Canada. The following year, they went on another royal trip to Poland and Germany.

Prince Louis, the youngest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, has yet to join his parents on a royal tour. Now that all three kids are in school, their vacation time is typically used for private, family vacations—not official duties.

When William and Kate visited Wales in March 2022, he revealed a tradition their family has before they travel on royal duty. "They are always asking us where we are going," Prince William said. "And we show them where we are on the map."
