Prince Louis's christening had a sweet connection to Princess Diana & here's why

While all eyes were on Prince Louis during his royal christening, we couldn’t help but notice the venue’s sweet connection to Princess Diana.

Today, the royal family gathered at St. James’s Chapel in London to celebrate the newest addition to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s family. But you might be surprised to know that the baby’s baptism paid a low-key tribute to his late grandma, Princess Diana.

You see, the christening took place at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace. Not only is it the same location where Kate Middleton received communion before her wedding in 2011, but it’s also the church where Princess Diana’s coffin was displayed for five days in 1997. Just let that sink in.

And Prince Louis isn’t the only royal baby to have a sweet connection to Princess Di. In 2013, Prince George was also christened at St. James’s Chapel. On the other hand, Princess Charlotte’s baptism took place in 2015 at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, England, which is where Princess Diana was christened in 1961.

So subtle, yet so sweet.
