Prince Harry turns 38 today, and what could have been a positive milestone has sadly been overshadowed by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II—the longest reigning monarch in British history, and the prince's beloved grandmother.

Currently, the Duke of Sussex is in England with wife Meghan Markle. Next Monday, the two will attend the queen's funeral alongside the other members of Harry's royal family, royals from other countries, and various country leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden.

As for his birthday today, September 15, BAZAAR.com has learned Prince Harry has no plans, as he continues to focus on the royal mourning period after the loss of his grandmother.

King Charles III declared a mourning period following the monarch's death last Thursday. The period, he said, will last until one week after the queen's funeral. During events held during the period, working members of the royal family must wear military uniforms, while others must dress in appropriate mourning attire.

In the days since the queen's death, Harry has reunited with father King Charles III and brother Prince William to take part in the ceremonies honoring his late grandmother. Last weekend, he and wife Meghan joined Prince William and Princess Kate in admiring the floral tributes left for the queen outside of Balmoral Castle last weekend by mourners. And just yesterday, Harry attended the procession of the queen's coffin, and walked behind the coffin with brother William as it was escorted from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall in London. He, Meghan, William, and Kate then attended a reception for the queen at the Palace of Westminster, where Harry was seen wiping tears from his eyes in mourning of his grandmother.
