Amazon Prime Day 2023 is July 11th and 12th — and great deals are already live
It's official: The dates of Amazon's annual shopping extravaganza known as Prime Day have been announced! Mark your calendar: Amazon Prime Day 2023 is on Tuesday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 12 in more than 20 countries. This mega-holiday for bargain hunters is one of the best times of the year to score deep discounts on a massive range of goodies in every category, from beauty and home to tech. There are tons of incredible sales to wade through on the big day, and it's important to plan ahead to make sure you maximize your experience. Here's what you need to know about the official Amazon Prime Day announcement, which hit the wires early this morning.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2023?
Prime Day 2023 will be on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 and Wednesday, July 12, 2023. It kicks off at 3AM ET / 12AM PT on the 11th, and ends at the same time on the 12th. (Last year it was also on a Tuesday and Wednesday.) Keep in mind that plenty of other online retailers try to get in on the action, so sales will often start a little earlier at places like Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, Sephora and more. Last year, Amazon also kicked off Prime Day early with deals that started about a week prior, which could be on the table this year also.
What's new for Prime Day 2023?
There are always recently released gadgets and gizmos to pounce on, and you can expect to find deals on new and older products like Apple Watches and Beats headphones, shopping expert Trae Bodge tells Yahoo Life. Even the latest models like the Amazon Echo Show 15 may be on sale.
Some of the deepest discounts will likely be for the home, like small appliances and smart home devices, Bodge says. Meaning, it may finally be time to invest in that air fryer you've been eyeing for ages.
What will be on sale for Prime Day 2023?
A lot, actually. Amazon puts practically everything on sale for Prime Day, but there are some categories that have especially great deals. "Amazon offers significant discounts on electronics during Prime Day, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, headphones and smart home devices," Michelle Madhok, online shopping expert and founder of deals site SheFinds.com, tells Yahoo Life. "Prime Day is also a great time to purchase home and kitchen appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, blenders and air fryers."
Madhok says you can also expect to find deals on fashion and beauty products, like makeup, skincare, bags and shoes.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is a huge savings event that's exclusive to Amazon Prime members. If you're not a member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial now, so you can start savings well in advance. If you want to wait, you can sign up for Amazon Prime any time, including during the event itself. However, it's best to get a head start so you can focus on shopping.
How to find the best Prime Day deals
While Prime Day is loaded with sales, Bodge points out that you shouldn't assume you're always getting the best deal. "I would do a little price sleuthing to see where the item is sold and for how much," she says. While Amazon is a hot-bed for deals, other retailers will also be offering impressive discounts around this time.
"You can use Google shopping for this or the Camelizer, which is a browser plug-in that provides historical pricing for items on Amazon," Bodge says. "Another helpful browser plug-in is the Sidekick from CouponCabin.com, which can test a slew of coupons for you at checkout. If there is a valid code, that savings will be applied to your purchase."
