After his ‘prime’ comment, CNN host Don Lemon seen soaking up the sun in Miami Beach

Don Lemon really stepped in it at work on Thursday.

The “CNN This Morning” co-host, 56, ruffled a few feathers after spouting off about how Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is “past her prime” at age 51.

Lemon and his two cohosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins were discussing Haley after she called for “mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old.”

But by the following day, the veteran TV journalist didn’t look like he had a care in the world in Miami Beach.

Paparazzi snapped Lemon with fiance Tim Malone camped out on the sand in front of the Faena Miami Beach Hotel. The two men, who have been together since 2016, were also seen taking a dip in the ocean, natch.

It turns out the timing for Lemon’s day off the air wasn’t that weird. An insider told Page Six that Lemon had planned the trip down south in advance for the long holiday weekend.

So what’s next for the embattled anchor? An education and then back to the grind.

Lemon will return to the scene of the crime Wednesday morning after taking some “formal training.” As per CNN, the Louisiana native’s new boss, Chris Licht, sent a memo to staffers Monday night informing everyone of the plan.

“I sat down with Don and had a frank and meaningful conversation,” Licht wrote. “He has agreed to participate in formal training, as well as continuing to listen and learn. We take this situation very seriously.

“It is important to me that CNN balances accountability with fostering a culture in which people can own, learn and grow from their mistakes.”

Haley, for one, isn’t having it. The onetime UN ambassador retweeted Lemon’s online apology he issued hours after the hoopla.

“To be clear, I am NOT calling for competency tests for sexist middle-aged CNN anchors,” she sniped. “Only for people who make our laws and are 75 plus.”
