Press & Sun-Bulletin Student of the Week: See the nominations and vote

The nominations for the latest Press & Sun-Bulletin Student of the Week are in, and you can now vote for the week's top student.

Voting is open until noon, Thursday, May 23 on our website.

We will announce the winner at pressconnects.com on Friday, May 24.

Local school administrators nominated students who have shown outstanding academic and school achievement and provide the details on their accomplishments below.

And the nominees for the Press & Sun-Bulletin Student of the Week are …

Ava Benjamin, Oxford: Ava is the valedictorian for the graduation class of 2024. A three-sport athlete, Ava plays volleyball, basketball and softball. In addition to sports, Ava also participates in Student Government and has earned 23 credits while taking college classes at Oxford High School. Ava will attend the University of Scranton and plans to study kinesiology.

Ryleigh Bowman, Candor: Ryleigh is a junior at Candor High School with a 94 grade point average. Her teacher shares, "Ryleigh is an exemplary student who sets the pace for other students in the room. Her attention to detail is noteworthy, and even more impressively, she takes constructive criticism very seriously to fine-tune her writing ability." In addition to her classroom leadership, Ryleigh also participates in many extra-curricular endeavors. She is a member of the National Honor Society, SADD, Yearbook Club, Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Softball, Travel Volleyball and Varsity Club.
