President Trump considering at least 30 new pardons
President Trump is supposedly mulling over the possibility of pardoning dozens of people amid reports that he has become “obsessed” with his constitutional power to intervene in such matters.
The White House has assembled the pardoning paperwork for at least 30 people, two sources familiar with the situation told CNN. Among them is Alice Johnson, a 63-year-old woman who has spent more than two decades behind bars for a first-time nonviolent drug offense.
The report comes just days after Kim Kardashian West met with Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner in the Oval Office in a bid to convince them to release the Tennessee grandmother. She was sentenced to life in prison on charges related to cocaine possession and money laundering in 1996.

It’s unclear whether the President intends to pardon or commute Johnson’s sentence, according to CNN.
A White House official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, recently told the Washington Post Trump has become “obsessed” with pardons, describing the Presidential power as his “new favorite thing” to talk about.
The President took to Twitter on Monday to tout his power, writing he has the “absolute right” to pardon himself, quickly noting that he would not do so as he’s “done nothing wrong.”
Trump last week pardoned conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza and also hinted at pardoning Martha Stewart and commuting the sentence of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
