PREP ROUNDUP: Vinemont earns 1st regular-season area title since 2009

Jan. 29—Kaden Graham spearheaded a quartet of double-digit scorers for Vinemont's varsity boys, who beat J.B. Pennington 64-34 on Monday night to clinch the program's first regular-season area title since the 2008-09 campaign.

Jaxon Holcomb (14), Jeremy Harbison (13) and Isaiah Jones (11) also found success offensively for the Eagles, who improved to 12-10 following the Class 3A, Area 13 triumph.

"We spent this past week focusing on what we needed to do to accomplish this goal," Vinemont coach Preston Boyd said. "I've been telling them they could do something that hasn't been done here in 15 years. They bought in and showed what they could accomplish when they play together. Our six seniors have done a tremendous job leading this team. We will enjoy this one tonight, then focus and prepare for what's ahead."
