  • Kourtney Kardashian confirmed that she caught COVID-19 ahead of her Sept. 2023 baby shower.

  • The reality star caught it after a "six-hour" make out sesh with husband Travis Barker.

  • She attended the baby shower and socially distanced from friends and family.

Kourtney Kardashian is pulling back the curtain on her socially-distanced baby shower.

During a May 23 episode of The Kardashians, the Lemme founder, 45, confirmed that she tested positive for COVID-19 just hours ahead of her September 2023 baby shower. (Kourtney gave birth to baby Rocky in November of that same year).

In the latest episode of the family reality television show, Kourtney took fans behind the scenes of her vintage Disneyland baby shower. But it wasn't all smiles, as Kourtney shared that her husband Travis Barker returned from a European tour shortly beforehand, inadvertently bringing the illness home with him.

When Travis landed, he took a COVID test, which was negative, she said. So the couple decided to reunite in style.

“We made out for six hours,” Kourtney shared in a confessional. Then, she noticed Travis was hot. “Like, his head feels very warm. Not a making-out type of warm. Like, really warm.”

The Blink-182 drummer then took another test, which came back positive, and unfortunately, Kourtney contracted the virus during their steamy make out sesh. This came as a scary moment for the reality star, with mom Kris Jenner pointing out that Kourt's pregnancy was already considered "high-risk" due to her age.

"I want to cry," Kris, 68, tells her party planner Mindy Weiss. "You’ve done such a beautiful job. And it’s just hitting me. I’m like, 'Are you f*cking kidding?'"

While pregnant people catch the virus at about the same rate as others, per the Mayo Clinic, a positive test raises the risks of "severe" COVID-19, which is treated in the hospital with oxygen. Severe COVID-19 has been linked to higher rates of premature births and preeclampsia, per the organization.

Ultimately, the family still decided to move forward with the shower, with K&T sequestered in a separate area wearing masks. Their friends and family delivered well wishes while standing a safe distance away.

“You’re almost like a Disney character,” Travis said to Kourtney during the episode. “You just sit here and wave.”

“I feel like we’re the king and queen…of COVID,” Kourtney joked.

During that same month, the mom-of-four also had an emergency "urgent fetal surgery" that ended up "saving" her baby’s life, she shared during the episode. Fetal surgery is "a procedure performed on an unborn baby (fetus) in the uterus (in utero) to help improve the long-term outcome of children with specific birth defects," per the Mayo Clinic.

In the episode, Kourtney shared the surgery didn't happen because of her age. Instead, it was just "a super rare thing that happened."

"I had to go in for fetal surgery—where they do surgery on the baby—which was terrifying," she explained in a confessional. "They had to do it right away."

Ultimately, mom and baby were just fine. Kourtney and Travis now seem really happy with their expanded family, with Kourtney revealing on Instagram that baby Rocky was with her all day while shooting promos for the new season.

“Something I’ve been doing lately is shifting my mind set and thinking of the positives,” she wrote. “I am so blessed to be able to bring my baby to work. How fun to get to be glammed up when I’ve been home for months in pajamas. How blessed to get to work alongside my sisters and mom…we really have so much fun together! What a beautiful life!”

The Kardashians season five premiere is now streaming on Hulu.
