Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always paid a special tribute to fallen Rangers Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang.
Trang, who played original Yellow Ranger Trini Kwan on the hugely popular 1990s TV show, tragically died in a car accident back in 2001.
Netflix's 30th anniversary special was always set to pay tribute to the late actress, but the film later also had to find a way to honour Frank, who played original Green Ranger Tommy Oliver, following his sudden death in November 2022.

As a way to honour both Trang and Trini, the special sees Trini's daughter Minh (Charlie Kersh) take on the role of Yellow Ranger in order to carry on her mother's legacy.
In the last moments of the special, Frank is remembered with a clip from season two of the original show, in which Tommy comes to terms with losing his Green Ranger powers while Kimberly (Amy Jo Johnson) and Zack (Walter Emmanuel Jones) serenade him with a song named 'Down the Road'.
Before the credits roll, photos of both Thuy and Frank appear above the text: "In loving memory of Thuy Trang and Jason David Frank."

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the touching tributes, Jones said: "It was really difficult for me to watch it and to think about it and have the realisation that both Jason and Thuy are gone."
David Yost, who reprised his role as original Blue Ranger Billy Cranston in the special, added: "As a cast, we were like brothers and sisters, we all got along.
"You know, we would fight every now and then, but we were a team and a family. I'm just so glad we got to honour Thuy and David in this way."
