The spin-off prequel series is due to return for its third season in December, with the Little Fires Everywhere star set to join as new character Quân in a recurring role, Deadline reports.

Raising Kanan follows the younger years of 50 Cent's Power character Kanan Stark (played by Mekai Curtis) and how he got involved in a life of crime.

Season 3 will follow Kanan in the aftermath of the coordinated mob attack and a number of betrayals in the season 2 finale.

Last year, Curtis spoke to Digital Spy about filming darker scenes in season 2, saying: "At this point, I kind of do a disassociation thing.

"I think there have definitely been difficult days – whether it be for, you know, the actual hours that we're putting in, whether it be the actual content or concept of what we're shooting.
