Portage HS scores | April 26: Burge, Sutkowy push Field High School softball to 9-0 in MAC

Field took another big step toward a Metro Athletic Conference softball title with a 12-1 win over Norton Friday.

Maddie Burge singled, doubled, homered and held the Panthers to one run in the circle.

Lilli Sutkowy recorded three doubles for the Falcons (15-1, 9-0), and Kailyn Gressman added two singles and a double and Jessica Pollard also had two singles.

Southeast 10, Liberty 0

Miranda Timko and Morgan Muncy combined to shut out the Leopards.

Bailey Morris and Neena Truex both singled, tripled and scored two runs to lead the Pirates. Ava Stephens also tripled and Izzy Schuller and Timko added a double apiece.

Baseball

Mogadore 12, Ravenna 0

The Wildcats surged ahead with an 11-run third, and that was plenty for Tyler Youngblood and Dylan Benedum, who combined on a two-hit shutout.

Austin Constantine, Devin Graham, Tyler Pendergast and Cole Reese had two hits apiece for Mogadore. Reese had a particularly productive day, going 2 for 2 with three RBIs, two walks and a stolen base.

Aurora 10, Cuyahoga Falls 1

Up 3-1 through four innings, the Greenmen put distance between themselves and the Black Tigers with three runs apiece in the fifth and sixth.

Will Bodine, Tommy Hach and Rory Kilway combined on a one-hitter, with Hach earning the win and Bodine striking out five batters in just two innings.

Alex Brooker and Dom Trivisonno led Aurora with three hits apiece, with each scoring twice and driving in two runs. Ben Lukasik also finished with multiple hits.

Maplewood 20, Windham 10

Down 15-3, the Bombers rallied valiantly, including a five-run fifth, but it wasn't enough.

Windham's Jack Eye had a triple, two singles and four runs, and Brian King, Dylan McCune and Anthony Paolella also had multiple hits for the Bombers.

Lake Center 5, Rootstown 3

The Rovers gave the Tigers, undefeated in Portage Trail Conference play, a battle.

Rootstown even tied the score in the fifth before LCC scored two in the sixth to win it.

Noah Bryant, Grant Coblentz and Matt Warder had two hits apiece for the Tigers, while Joe Weaver went 3 for 4 to lead the Rovers. Bryce Harless, Tony Karp and Lucas Skala added two hits apiece for Rootstown.

Garfield 24, Liberty 0

Aidan Hill and Brandyn Bogucki combined to toss a perfect game, notching 11 strikeouts.

Alex Carter (4 for 4, six RBIs, three runs) and Eric Geddes (3 for 3, three RBIs, two runs) led the G-Men at the plate.
