A popular Columbia store that specializes in children’s clothes and accessories is set to open a second location.

Duck Duck Goose is prepping a store at 4525-C Forest Drive in Forest Acres. It will be in the Forest Village shopping center, in the space between Fleet Feet and the Be Beep toy shop. A Boca Grande Burritos restaurant also is in that section of the shopping center.

“We are so excited to have Duck Duck Goose an adorable children’s boutique expand locally to The Acres,” the city of Forest Acres said on its Facebook page. Duck Duck Goose said in a recent Facebook post that it plans to open the Forest Drive location in November.

This would be the second store for Duck Duck Goose. The first is at 2800 Devine St. The boutique offers a wide variety of fashionable clothing and accessories for boys and girls, as well as monogramming, a gift registry and more.

The Duck Duck Goose plans are just the latest retail news for Forest Acres, which has seen a number of openings or announcements recently.

A Crumbl Cookies store is coming to the nearby Cardinal Crossing development. Poogan’s Southern Kitchen also recently opened a restaurant in Cardinal Crossing. Meanwhile, national furniture and decor store HomeGoods is opening a new store at Trenholm Plaza on Nov. 10, and beauty supply company Sephora also recently opened a shop in the plaza.

And Richland County Council recently approved a tax incentive agreement that could make way for a $101 million mixed-use overhaul of the long-struggling Richland Mall property at 3400 Forest Drive.
