Popeyes Launches New 'Golden' Sandwich That Will Elevate Lunch

Popeyes is debuting a new menu item, and fans are ready to take a bite!

The fried chicken eatery wants to "ensure fun is infused back into lunch" with their latest launch: the Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich.

Featuring a new sweet and tangy Golden BBQ sauce, the fast food joint with Louisiana roots claims "this sandwich transforms lunchtime from mundane to magnificent." The offering is prepared with buttermilk-battered, all-white meat chicken breast, smothered in Golden BBQ sauce, and served on a buttery-toasted brioche bun with barrel-cured pickles.

Additionally, guests can take it up a notch with the option to customize their sandwich with add-ons including a slice of Havarti cheese and Applewood smoked bacon.

For fans wanting to get a taste of the new drop, it is available now, as of Tuesday, May 7, at participating Popeyes locations nationwide.

On social media, food blogger Markie Devo shared a preview of the crispy chicken menu item, with one fan leaving a comment and hoping there's "no fights over this" the way the last Popeyes chicken sandwich release incited chaos.

"Oooo 👀" another fan wrote, seemingly communicating that their interest was piqued.

And that's not all the fried foods chain has cooked up lately.

In March, the brand announced that a brand-new flavor of wings was being added to its lineup: Popeyes' Honey Lemon Pepper Wings. According to a press release, the new addition was made available immediately via the Popeyes app or online, but officially hits menus on Monday, April 1.
