Polling stations in Wiltshire have opened as local elections take place across the country.

A third of seats are up for grabs in Swindon Borough Council, though there are no council elections happening in the rest of Wiltshire.

This means that most, though not all, Swindon residents will have a chance to have their say at the polls today.

People across Wiltshire can also vote for their new Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), who oversees the strategic direction of the force and sets the force budget.

There are four candidates in the upcoming elections for the position in Wiltshire, representing the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats, the Labour and Co-operative Party and an independent.
