Injuries are starting to mount for the Dolphins, who have lost two consecutive games after a 3-0 start to the 2022 season.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa did not play in the team’s 40-17 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday because of a concussion and has not yet progressed to doing football activities. Backup Teddy Bridgewater is also in concussion protocol and cannot return to practice until Thursday.

A lingering toe injury sidelined left tackle Terron Armstead after a few plays Sunday, and he stayed in New York for further evaluation. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill left the game with a walking boot on his left foot but said he is fine.

On defense, a groin muscle injury kept cornerback Xavien Howard out of the Jets game. And the Dolphins have played their first five games without fellow corner Byron Jones, who remains on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list after offseason leg surgery. McDaniel said he doesn’t expect Jones to return in Week 6.
