Police identify 32-year-old man as victim found dead in East 56th Street KC front yard

Kansas City police identified 32-year-old Alan Young as the victim found on Wednesday in what is being investigated as a homicide in the 3700 block of E. 56th Street.

Officers were called about 1 p.m. to a home where a man was found unresponsive in the front yard, said Sgt. Jacob Becchina, a Kansas City Police Department spokesman.

Emergency medical personnel declared the man dead.

The cause of death was still under investigation as of Thursday, Becchina said. The death was being investigated as a homicide.

The killing marked the 149th homicide this year in Kansas City, according to data tracked by The Star, which includes killings by police. The city had seen 135 homicides by this time last year, the second deadliest year in recorded history.
