Time for new shoes? You're in luck — Zappos is having a massive sale on sneakers, flats, boots and more — but it ends tonight! There are still tons of savings to be had, but we had a little bit of help filtering our options. Namely, we recruited New York-based podiatrist Dr. Polina Zaydenberg, who is board-certified by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry in the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and in Diabetic Footwear.
The doc's picks include sneakers, flats, and of course, a pair of top-rated Skechers.
Shop the sale here, and keep scrolling for some of her faves.
New Balance NB Nergize Sport
While we might be fans of this sneaker's colorful touches (like the splatter detailing at the tongue and sole, plus the hot pink details throughout), Dr. Zaydenberg appreciates the shoe's structure — namely, the propulsive (off-the-ground) toe box.
"It helps you offload the pressure from the ball of your foot," she explained.
Adidas Running Puremotion Adapt
Available in over 15 different colors, these Adidas slip-ons easily toe the line between sporty and cute. Wear them around town, to the gym, to drive, what have you — these mesh kicks are sure to pair well with whatever your day's activities may be.
Dr. Zaydenberg's favorite part of the shoe is the back of the heel. She shared:
"The heel lift is great — it helps take the pressure off the posterior and the bottom part of the heel."
Naturalizer Maxwell
It's slowly but surely warming up, which means we're slowly but surely entering flats and sandals season! These golden numbers are a great option not only because they're so effortlessly chic, but because they're incredibly comfy to boot.
"They’re accommodative and supportive, plus the heel has extra cushioning, which is good for those with Achilles Tendonitis," Dr. Zaydenberg shared.
Ecco Soft 7 Street Slip-On
There's plenty to love about these trendy slip-on sneakers with awesome faux snakeskin detailing, but Dr. Zaydenberg particularly about the materials.
“I love that these are leather — natural materials are always better for your feet!" she revealed. The platform is beneficial for those with metatarsalgia and neuromas, as well as those with insertional Achilles Tendonitis.”
Skechers Summits Louvin
Skechers can do no wrong, so when you find a great option on sale, you better grab 'em — fast. Dr. Zaydenberg singled out this pair not because they look like they can be worn for miles on end, but rather, because the bungee lacing is perfect for those who have issues tying their shoes. Wide feet? No worries with these — and the doc also said they're good for those with high insteps too.
