Podcast: What is wrong with the Heat? Breaking down the problems and possible solutions

At the 25-game mark, the Miami Heat is not where it wants to be. Not even close.

The Heat is coming off probably its worst loss of the season, a 20-point blowout home defeat to one of the NBA’s worst teams in the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. Miami now stands at 11-14.

On a new episode of the Miami Herald’s Heat Check podcast, Anthony Chiang and David Wilson discuss the issues hurting the Heat and whether it can find answers in time to save its season.

Has the Heat yet found its identity? How have injuries and all the moving parts that come with players coming in and out of the lineup affected the Heat’s continuity? What happened to Miami’s depth? Why has the Heat’s offense been among the worst in the league this season? Can Victor Oladipo help solve some of Miami’s problems?

The good news for the Heat is it has reached a soft spot in its schedule, with seven of its next 10 games coming against teams that entered Wednesday with a sub-.500 record. Now is the time for Miami to get back on track and make up some ground in the standings.

As always, thanks for listening and please continue to rate, review and subscribe on Apple, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. A new episode of the Heat Check podcast will be released each week during the NBA season.
